Just bought and installed so not sure if it will last but it looked and felt to be the same as the original.Took a little more to install that I thought because, with this mower you had to remove the flywheel which required a puller, to get to one of the starter bolts.The old starter still worked but started slowly and when I removed it you could see noticeble wear on the gear. With the new one it starts right up.Sears FS5500 riding mower.24hp Briggs and Stratton

Excellent product for the money

This was the easiest part I have had to install on my tractor. Just follow the instructions and have the correct tools ( in my case a Torx driver) and you have a new starter. My 18 year old tractor started first time and has been running for a month problem free.
