I ordered this carburetor knowing that my exact model of Tecumseh 8 HP was not listed. However the bolt patterns on both ends of the carburetor were the same as mine and the throttle & choke connections were very similar, so I took a chance that it would work. The carb was shorter than the original but with a few modifications I was able to install it and the Sears Rototiller is back working again. Runs like a dreamMy Tecumseh 8 HP is MH80 was built in 1972, you can still buy the original carburetor the lowest I have seen it for is $ 115.00 US funds and as high as $ 200.00 US funds.

This carburetor was a perfect replacement for the original carb. on my twenty year old snow blower with the Tecumseh HMSK80 engine. The old carb. had fixed jets resulting it steadily deteriorating performance over the years. With the ability to adjust the mixture, the engine now idles properly and performs as it should. Although the carburetor itself installed easily, it was necessary to remove the muffler to access the fuel line. The muffler attaching bolts had seized into the aluminum of the engine and resulted in one broken bolt and the necessity to restore the threads in the engine. All turned out well and I'm very happy with my purchase.
